Major Russian Strikes Eliminate Power Throughout Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under escalating attacks in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while local people in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and dealt with disruption to water systems, per reports from city officials.

Simultaneously, a minor was fatally injured in a distinct aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, based on information from area administrators.

Moscow has increased strikes on energy facilities over recent weeks, while officials has called for "real steps" from international partners to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but firm measures - from the US, the EU and the Group of Seven - in supplying defensive weapons and enforcing sanctions," he wrote in a public message.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty rockets targeted energy facilities, characterizing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were working to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles struck electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the attacks on the capital have been hospitalized, according to city authorities.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region experienced heavy assaults overnight. A seven-year-old child was killed and several individuals were wounded.

The strikes succeed periods of air raids in the territory, parts of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The whole nation is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to spot.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already affecting energy systems.

Officials stated utility staff and authorities were preparing for more assaults.
