A revitalized the Russian player claimed his initial championship for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has endured a challenging year, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the US Open.

His varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in especial - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and eventually separating with former trainer Gilles Cervara.

Now collaborating with his coach and his other coach, he has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive win over opponent Moutet.

This represents his first championship since the Rome competition and first on a hard surface since spring of the previous year.

The win also indicates he has secured 21 victories at 21 various events.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my children at once, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Medvedev.

"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my child her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six finals, including in the German tournament previously this season.

Medvedev's defensive play style and recurring emotional displays on court had led some to wonder if his skill to compete at the elite level was finished.

Yet the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and compete assertively, reinforced by an better serving game.

The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, winning four of the final five games to take the lead.

Both players swapped breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial tour victory, gained dominance to push for a third set.

Moutet rescued four early-game break points in a competitive final set before the champion broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Appropriately, the winner secured victory with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to control a volley after a lengthy match.
